As you start to decorate your new homes in Meridian ID, you might find that everything doesn’t go as planned. You might need to improvise ornament hooks, or you can’t find the bad bulb on a string of lights. The following hacks will help you solve those snags and more.
Alternative ornament hooks
What if you’re decorating the tree and find out you don’t have enough ornament hooks? What can you use instead? Try paper clips! Simply unbend them at the middle so you have an S-shaped hook with a small end and a large end. Put the large end over the branch and hang the ornament on the small end. Use dark plastic-coated clips if you want them to blend into the tree.
Bad bulb finder
Believe it or not, there are handheld tools just for this purpose. You hold the tester near each bulb and it uses a light signal to indicate which bulbs are causing the problem. So much easier than replacing each bulb one by one to find the culprit!
Tangled strings of lights
If your light strings get tangled in storage, try wrapping them around an empty gift wrap tube. Secure the ends with rubber bands. You can also wrap your lights around a flat piece of cardboard with a few notches cut into the edges to hold the wires in place.
