Fiscal stability, a strong economy, and low crime rates helped place our state near the top of the rankings. Idaho ranked #2 in Economy and Fiscal Stability. Within the Economy category, it topped the list at #1 in Growth. Lots of new development is happening in the state as new residents are drawn here for many reasons, including a good job market and an abundance of active outdoor lifestyle opportunities. Economic development helps put Idaho at #5 in Employment. The state boasts 2.4% job growth, while the national average is less than that at 0.2%.
