Where to Go Hiking in Boise

Hiking is a popular hobby among people who purchase homes in Boise, ID. That’s no surprise since the Treasure Valley is home to some of the best hiking trails in the Northwest.

You can find everything from short, easy loops to steep, challenging trails in the Boise area. We want to tell you about three perfect local trails for almost anyone. Bonus: All three trails allow dogs, as long as they’re on a leash. So grab your family and head out to one of these easy hikes:

Boise Cascade Lake Loop

This 1.3-mile loop starts at Veterans Memorial Park. It’s a good flat trail for a quick walk. It takes most people 25-30 minutes to do one lap.

Table Rock

If you want a slightly more challenging and longer hike, this popular hiking loop is 3.7 miles and features some steeper sections. The climb is worth it to see the fantastic views from the top. There isn’t much shade, so be sure to use sun protection and carry water on warm days.

Boise River Greenbelt Trail

You can easily spend a whole day on this 25-mile paved walking and biking path along the Boise River. There are numerous parks located along the way, so you can stop and have a picnic, let the kids play, or sit down and rest for a while if you wish.
